Maybe I exposed myself more than I ever intended to, I actually now feel a little nervous because I am letting people into “my world”. While I always intended to start sharing this creative voice with people, it is actually one of my main drives in doing this course but here right now here I’m sort of torn emotionally and trying to be brave.
I did my card design based upon my world! if anything it may make me sound crazy when I try to explain that I have my own world but guess a sensible way is just say it is a metaphor to my own creative thoughts and my day dreams.
While this time in the end I didn’t limit my palette, I also didn’t go crazy with colours like I have been known to. I cannot help but wonder if I could have I have benefited from the limitation?
Do I trust my gut with “so, she said “hello”? I do like it, It is a bit different and that is very much me, does not make sense on it own and have a deeper meaning, I want the viewers to question it.
All that being said there is also the side of me that wants it to be as perfect as it can be and that side of me is seriously debates changing it to something maybe more “normal”.
I am on the OCA group on facebook So, maybe in the future I should ask the thoughts of others?
Did I challenge myself enough?
I wonder if sticking to a style and medium that is very familiar to me is a risk, my direction in this was driven by being me and as result my voice is very loud and clear in the final result and that showcases where I am now and where I can grow as an illustrator, I also figured that I have time along the course to push my boundaries and challenge myself.
Final design & Card thoughts
The final design has been printed by Snapfish on to A5 card.
Overall it pretty much looks like the digital version, it is a little darker, few lost of brush details that isn’t major and the designs border is a little more to the left then planned but these are small issues and something to be careful of in the future.
